Eligibility Criteria for Deakin University Scholarships

To qualify for Deakin University Postgraduate Research Scholarships, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Required Language: English
  • Eligible Countries: All world countries

General eligibility requirements:

  • The applicant must be enrolled in an HDR (Higher Degree by Research) course at Deakin University, either as a domestic or international student.
  • Applicants must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from the Commonwealth that offsets HDR fees for the RTP Fees Offset.
  • Applicants for the RTP or DUPRS Stipend must not receive income exceeding 75% of the RTP or DUPRS Stipend rate, unless the income is unrelated to the student’s course of study or not intended for living costs.
  • Applicants must have completed at least four years of tertiary education studies and achieved a first-class Honours degree or equivalent.

For Doctoral Degree:

  • Completion of a research project, including a thesis, equivalent to at least 25% of a year’s full-time study at Level 8 or 9 of the Australian Qualifications Framework, with a grade equivalent to 70% or above at Deakin.
  • Completion of a Master’s Degree (Research) in a related area.

For Master Degree:

  • Completion of a research project, including a thesis, equivalent to at least 25% of a year’s full-time study at Level 8 or 9 of the Australian Qualifications Framework, with a grade equivalent to 65% or above at Deakin.

(2) Prepare relevant documents/information, required the following:

  • Resume or Curriculum vitae.
  • Academic Transcripts.
  • Previous research degree.
  • Publications information.
  • Bibliographic information.
