What is the Chevening Scholarship?
The Chevening Scholarship 2025-2026 is a fully funded master’s program for international students. This scholarship pays for your university tuition fees, gives you a monthly living allowance, covers economy-class return airfare to the UK, and provides extra money for essential costs.

Who Funds Chevening?
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations fund Chevening. There are two types of awards:

Chevening Scholarship Coverage
The Chevening Scholarship offers recipients the following benefits:

- A homeward departure allowance for returning home after your studies.
- Payment for one visa application.

Eligibility Criteria for Chevening Scholarship
To qualify for a Chevening Scholarship, applicants must meet these requirements:
General Requirements:
- Language Requirement: Proficiency in English.
- Eligible Countries: Must be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country. (Refer to the official website for the full list of eligible countries.)
- Return Requirement: Commit to returning to your home country for at least two years after completing the scholarship.
- Educational Qualification:
- Must have completed all parts of an undergraduate degree by the application deadline.
- This degree should allow entry into a postgraduate program in the UK (typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK but varies by course and university).
- Work Experience: Have a minimum of two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours) of work experience.
- University Applications: Apply to three eligible UK university courses and secure an unconditional offer from one by July.
Who is NOT Eligible?
- Citizenship:
- Holders of British or dual British citizenship (except for citizens of British Overseas Territories or BN(O) status applicants from Hong Kong).
- Refugees in non-Chevening eligible countries. (However, refugees from Chevening-eligible countries applying from an eligible country are eligible.)
- Employment Restrictions:
- Employees, former employees, or relatives* of employees of Her Majesty’s Government (e.g., British embassies/high commissions, certain government departments) within the last two years.
- Employees or relatives* of Chevening Partner organizations can apply but cannot receive a Partner Award if the employment occurred within the last two years.
- Previous UK Scholarship: Applicants who have previously studied in the UK with funding from a UK government scholarship.
(*Relatives include parents, siblings, children, and spouses.)

- Complete the quiz to assure your eligibility for the Scholarship.
- Fill the application with the required data and prepare the following documents:
- Completed education documents.
- English language qualification.
- Conditional offers for proposed courses of study (up to three).
- Unconditional offers for proposed courses of study (up to three) (You must upload at least one unconditional offer by July).
- References (If you are invited to interview you will be invited to upload two references).
- Passport / ID document.
